It’s been over 6 months since Spacebat was released for Android devices.
It’s hard for us to believe really..
We received some great feedback post-launch and, after suddenly realising that we’re already over 33% through 2014, I thought it was about time we mention some of the other sites our little red friend has been mentioned on!
Hardcore Droid – So You Want To Work In Video Games?
Al Jackson, Founder and Editor at Hardcore Droid, kindly featured us in his ongoing series in which developers discuss personal influences that have aided them through game development.
Our very own 8-bit musical prodigy Sam Curley spoke with Al, detailing what started him off on the road to game design.
With Spacebat being the first game we’ve ever made, I personally hope that there’s a young budding game designer out there who sees what we’ve achieved so far and realises that they, too, can make games if they set their mind to it.
The article is full of useful references from independent developers both large and small, so it’s definitely worth checking out.
Heck, even if it’s not your cup of tea – you’ll get to see Sam’s amazing beard..
Android Rundown Spacebat Review – “Fun, addictive arcade gameplay.”
We were thrilled to hear that Android Rundown took the time to play through Spacebat and post a review – it looks like they enjoyed it too!
The not-too-shabby 8.5/10 rating certainly put a smile on our faces.
Take a look at the full review and much, much more by visiting the link above.
Super Game Droid Friday Night Indie Game Round-Up
“You thought Super Meat Boy’s uber challenging gameplay was addicting? Wait till you meet the new action arcade game Spacebat.”
Those fine chaps over at SGD do a weekly round-up of the latest and greatest Android indie games, followed by a open vote for the readers to choose their ‘indie game of the week’.
Well, we were of course delighted to be featured in their article – even more so due to the great things they had to say about our furry mammal protagonist.
To top it all off, we won the ‘Best Indie Game of the Week’ vote with 42/100 votes!
That meant Spacebat was featured on SGD’s home page all week for the world to see, once again leaving these 3 small developers extremely chuffed.
If you happened to be one of the people who voted for us back in January – I think we may owe you a beer!
Okay, I think that brings everything back up to speed – Spacebat is still available on Google Play so if you haven’t already, why not grab a copy for just 69p?
