Wow. That went quick.
I should probably present some statistics, right?
Because everyone loves statistics.
Phew! There you go, stats for you and the world to behold.
It’s not great, we admit – but what can we expect for a game on a massive mobile platform? I mean, we all agree that Spacebat is awesome and all, with it’s bats, snakes & explosion-deaths left right and center.. so if you find it a fun challenge, we’re happy.
We even got a mention from our friends over at Hardcore Droid, “boasts some bonafide hardcore challenges” they say – I’d be inclined to agree!
Based on the above statistics, along with the intentionally challenging levels – I estimate that in total over 4,200 profanities have been shouted involuntarily due to players dying in-game. That’s a lot of sweari–OH GOD DAMN I DIED AGAIN!
YouTuber LtZonda also released some Spacebat gameplay footage, which is effectively a video of him dying over and over and over again! This video sums up how you’re gonna be spending your first 5 minutes in Spacebat pretty well. Don’t worry though, it’s not just you – it’s meant to be that hard.
Oh, we’ve also been invited by 100% Indie to get the game uploaded to the Samsung App Store, which is now pre-installed on any new Samsung phones. More news about this will be announced when it’s up and running.
To summarise – No, Spacebat won’t make us rich .. But any independent developers that think making their first game will earn them mega bucks, will learn better before long. We had fun making this game, we’ve had lots of fun playing the game & we hope those of you who give it a download will enjoy it too.
